The County Administrator's Office strives to provide the best possible, most fiscally responsible services to Boone County residents and taxpayers. Some of the primary responsibilities of the county administrator include:

Committee Support

County Administration works with the county board and its various committees and is responsible for business matters such as budget, finance, human resources, purchasing, information technology, and coordination between departments.

  • Agenda preparation and management of information to the various standing committees of the County Board.

Budget, Audit Financial Management

Human Resources, Risk Management, Purchasing

Community Services

  • Coordination of operations in the Animal Control Department
  • Coordination of operations in the County Building Department
  • Point of contact for media relations ( public information office)
  • Services related to the Freedom of Information Act ( FOIA Law)
  • Economic development activities with Growth Dimensions, Inc.

Additional Services

  • Information Technology planning and implementation
  • Intergovernmental relations
  • Emergency Management Agency liaison and Homeland Security functions
  • Environmental compliance and closure activity management of Belvidere/Boone County landfill #2
  • Cable television franchise agreement oversight
  • Strategic management of the County Comprehensive Plan
  • Advocacy activity with State and Federal officials
  • Any other duties related to the day to day business management of a County Government
