 Why spay or neuter?

  • Helps prevent certain types of cancer including breast cancer. Almost half of unspayed dogs develop breast tumors, uterine diseases such as pyometra (a life threatening infection), mastitis and ovarian cysts. Male genital problems such as enlarged prostate glands occur in about 60% of older un neutered males, which is very painful for them. Males can also develop testicular tumors.
  • May result in less of an urge to roam.
  • May make your pet less aggressive or likely to bite.
  • Helps control the pet population.
