Election Judge Information


Election Judges are VITAL to the election process.
Election judges serve Boone County to ensure a fair election in accordance to the laws of Illinois. 

To Qualify as an Election Judge, You must:
Be a citizen of the United States
Be a Boone County Registered Voter
Choose one party to represent as an election judge
Be of good repute and character
Be able to speak, read and write the English language.
Be skilled in the four fundamental rules of arithmetic
Be of good understanding and capable
Complete an Election Judge Application and training provided by the County Clerk
Be able to work on Election Day beginning at 5:00AM until all duties upon the closing of the polls are completed.
Be responsible for transportation to and from the polling place you have been scheduled to work.

High School Students-You can be election judges too!  

To Qualify as a Student Election Judge, You must:
Be a junior or senior in high school in good standing.
Have a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Be a U.S. citizen by Election Day. (You do not have to be a registered voter yet.)
Be a resident of Boone County
Choose one party to represent as an election judge
Be able to speak, read and write the English language.
Complete training provided by the County Clerk
Be able to work on Election Day beginning at 5:00AM until all duties upon the closing of the polls are completed.
Have written approval by his/her high school principal and parent/guardian.
