Boone County Public Transit is a county-wide transportation service that is available to all residents of Boone County, regardless of age. It is a door-to-door service, which means the bus picks you up where you request and drops you off at your desired destination.
To book a ride, reservations are required a minimum of 24 hours in advance of your travel date. Exceptions will be made for same-day medical appointments in Boone County. To make your reservation, contact the Boone County Council on Aging at (815) 975-9059 between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The Boone County Council on Aging is the provider for public transportation in Boone County.
Transportation is available Monday through Friday from 7:45am to 4:30pm. All buses used in the provision of public transit services are equipped with wheelchair lifts, so anyone of any age can ride. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 3 and younger must ride in a car safety seat. Please be sure to bring your car seat with you - the transit system does not have car seats for you to use.
FARES:
Riders age 13 to 60: $2.00 per one-way trip
Children age 12 and under: $1.00 per one-way trip
Adults 60 years & older: Donations gratefully accepted

HOW TO PAY FOR YOUR FARE:
Pay your fare by cash on the day of your ride (exact fare ONLY) or by tickets. Drivers cannot make change.
Tickets for transportation services can be purchased at the Boone County Council on Aging (BCCA) office located at:

Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Buying tickets in advance is a great convenience - no need to worry about having the exact fare on the day of your ride. Tickets can be purchased as single rides, or as a 20-ride punch card (with one additional ride free).
Boone County Public Transit operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.
